Hip-Hop Heads meets every Friday during the semester at 4:30pm in Uris Hall Room 260. Discussion is usually centered around our album(s) of the week, which members listen to leading up to the meeting. We’ve talked about Rakim, Lil Uzi Vert, and everything in between.
Discussions are very laid-back and often venture far from the albums of the week. Attendance is encouraged for hip-hop fanatics and novices alike.
Hip-Hop Heads organizes on-campus public events to include more people in the discussion. During the Spring 2017 semester, we held a panel discussion titled Kendrick’s America: Blackness, Mental Health, and Politics in To Pimp a Butterfly.
For the Spring 2018 semester, we held a large event about women in hip-hop and a smaller discussion about Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
